A race car with customised excellence
Another special PSI 996 GT2-R was produced in the winter months of 2002/2003 for Rupert Lewin from the United Kingdom – a right-hand drive PSI Porsche 996 GT2-R – including FIA homologation.
This custom build required a number of new developments and changes at the component level.
Starting in mid-2003, this customised PSI 996 GT2-R participated in the Michelin Cup UK and the British GT Championship. It was not long before the car was challenging for podium places, and in the years that followed, went on to notch up an impressive series of race wins.
The PSI 996 GT2-R made a name for itself through its impressive results and reliability, with its reputation reaching far beyond the borders of Europe to America and Eastern Europe. Accordingly, the PSI team and the 996 GT2-R attracted a continuously growing customer base.
Rupert Lewin is still the proud owner of this unique PSI Porsche 996 GT2-R to this day and occasionally enters it in club sport races.
