The first car to be built, the PSI 996 GT2-R with VIN #WPOZZZ99Z1SPSI001#, was produced at the end of 2001 and was based entirely on a Porsche 996 Turbo bodyshell.

The car, driven by Markus Palttala and Kurt Mollekens, achieved a string of notable results on the tracks of Silverstone, Jarama, Anderstorp and Spa-Francorchamps in the 2002 FIA GT Championship. The GT2-R also revealed its immediate winning potential and latent future potential in the Belcar series.

The trio of Palttala, Mollekens and Geboers competed in the 24 Hours of Spa at Spa Francorchamps.

The evolution of a winner: the Porsche 996 GT2-R #PSI001# in the BELCAR Championship

The car was driven by Markus Palttala and Leo van Sande in the 2003 Belcar Championship and also entered in the 24 Hours of Spa at Spa-Francorchamps.

New challenges: PSI 996 GT2-R in the GT/FFSA in France

After these successes, the 996 GT2-R PSI001 changed hands, being sold to Michel Nourry Competition for the 2004 GT/FFSA season. The car continued its success story in France, where it was driven by talented and ambitious drivers such as Morgan Moullin-Traffort, Jean-Claude Police and Laurent Cazenave.
